ALLOMETRIC DOSE CALCULATOR FOR ANTIBIOTIC DOSES IN REPTILES

Download the spreadsheet below and open it in Microsoft Excel. To calculate an allometrically scaled dose simply type the reptiles weight in the FIRST CELL of the weight column then press ENTER . The whole table should then change to give dosages and treatment intervals for all the antibiotics in the list.  Values for dose MEC/SMEC and freq(SMEC) are taken from BSAVA Manual of Reptiles (1992) and Reptile Medicine and Surgery Mader 1996. Values for ceftazidime are calculated from manufacturers literature, (published reptile dose is 20mg/kg/day).
