Skin Diseases Of The Dog Sue Paterson, MA, VetMB, DVD, DECVD, MRCVS
Manchester, England
Review by Kathy Lyon
Skin Diseases Of The Dog provides the veterinary practitioner with a concise, practical guide to common skin diseases and newly discovered dermatoses in the dog. This reference handbook is designed for busy clinicians, as well as veterinary students. Each chapter describes a different type of skin disease with descriptions of its clinical presentations, and the diagnosis in each case. Particular emphasis is placed on those diagnostic techniques available to the veterinary surgeon within a practice environment. The book contains over 200 excellent color photographs of skin conditions and ectoparasites in the dog. I noticed one minor error in one photo where the breed of dog seems to be incorrect, but that's an editor's nit-picking and not really an issue in this excellent book. The photos are graphic and well illustrative of the diseases they represent. This book should be a must-have for the veterinary clinic library. The index is very complete.
